WIP News: Melissa Binder Elected President of Women Investment Professionals

We are excited to announce that Melissa Binder has been named the new president of Women Investment Professionals (WIP), effective July 2023. Melissa has been an active contributor to the organization since the beginning of her career in 2006. She joined the Events Committee in 2017 and has served as treasurer and Board member since 2019.

“WIP has been immensely valuable to me over the years. It has provided me insight, mentorship as well as professional and personal inspiration. I’m honored to be chosen the new president and looking forward to being in a position to be able to give back to an organization that has given me so much”, said Melissa Binder.

Melissa is currently a managing director on the distribution team at PPM America, Inc. (PPM), which has been a WIP Gold sponsor since 2017. Melissa joined PPM in December 2017. She began  her career at Marco Consulting Group in 2006 after earning a master’s degree in economics, finance, and accounting from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois. She is a CFA® charterholder.

We would also like to recognize and thank Nancy Prial, the outgoing president, whose contributions and hard work over the past three years have been instrumental to WIP’s growth and continued success. Those accomplishments include reducing membership fees, offering more free events to members, instituting an award to recognize up and coming stars in the industry, developing a series of intimate mentoring/partnership opportunities, while continuing our core programs of educational, professional development, and networking events.

“I feel confident that WIP is in good hands under Melissa’s leadership, supported by our energetic and involved board, as well as strong committees,” said Nancy. “I am excited to turn over the reins to Melissa to continue on the path of innovation that we have developed over the past few years.”
