Lori Lucas, CFA, President and CEO of EBRI, to Receive the 2018 Distinguished Woman Investment Professional of the Year Award 

Award will be presented to Ms. Lucas at the Women Investment Professionals (WIP) Annual Trailblazer Dinner on October 18, 2018

(CHICAGO, IL – October 2, 2018) Women Investment Professionals (WIP), a leading not-for-profit organization for professional women in the institutional investment management industry, today announced it will be awarding its prestigious “Distinguished Woman Investment Professional of the Year” award to Lori Lucas, CFA, President and CEO of Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI). The award will be presented at WIP’s Annual Trailblazer Dinner on October 18, 2018 at The University Club of Chicago.

The “Distinguished Woman Investment Professional” award seeks to recognize a leading figure for her contributions and achievements in the institutional investment management industry. Nominations for the award recipient are put forth by WIP members and ultimately selected by the WIP Board of Directors.

“Lori is a recognized leader in the retirement industry,” said Christina Cryer, President of WIP and Head of U.S. Consultant Relations for WisdomTree Asset Management. “Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to help American workers save for retirement through her work in policy, research and consulting with plan sponsors and institutional investors.”

As the President and CEO of EBRI, Lori is responsible for leading EBRI in its mission to provide unbiased, fact-based research and data on retirement, health care, and other benefits that provide financial security for American workers. Formerly, Lori was an Executive Vice President and Practice Leader at Callan, where she led Callan’s Defined Contribution business, and developed research and insights into retirement trends for the benefit of clients and the industry. Lori is the immediate past Chair of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association

In previous roles, Lori was Director of Retirement Research at Hewitt Associates, served as a vice president at Ibbotson Associates, as a pension fund consultant at J.H. Ellwood & Associates, and an analyst and product development leader at Morningstar, Inc.
