Joanne “Jo” Hickman Dodd

Joanne Hickman Dodd is a senior executive with more than 36 years in institutional sales management with large, global asset managers. For the past 25 years, she has focused on building and managing consultant relations teams to raise assets and service the needs of consultants and investors on a global basis.  

Most recently, Ms. Dodd was the Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager and Coordinator of Global Consultant Relations for The Capital Group.  Prior to joining Capital Group in 2014, she was Managing Director and Global Head of Consultant Relations at Northern Trust Asset Management, and Managing Director and Head of Consultant Relations, Americas, at UBS Global Asset Management.

She has been a passionate advocate for women and children, a commitment throughout her distinguished career. In 1996, she co-founded Women Investment Professionals (WIP) which inspires, empowers, and advocates for the advancement of women in the investment industry. WIP provides professional development opportunities, educational programs and networking across diverse disciplines, functions and occupations. Ms. Dodd returned to the Board in 2020, serves on the Advisory Council and chairs the Professional Development Committee.

Ms. Dodd has been an active member of the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives (AIMSE) for 21 years and served on that organization’s board for seven.

For six years Joanne has been a board member for Deborah’s Place and for the past two years, served as chair of the Governance Committee.  Deborah’s Place is the largest provider of permanent housing for homeless women in Chicago.  Ms. Dodd brought her expertise to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Open Heart Magic (OHM), a nonprofit helping hospitalized children by bringing laughter and hope through bedside magic. She served on the OHM board for more than four years.

Ms. Dodd earned her MBA from the Quinlan School at Loyola University in Chicago.
