Join WIP as we come together to support our community partner Cara Collective. Cara serves 350 job seekers each month by providing training and resources needed to secure employment. With the current government shutdown and cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the biggest challenge for many Cara participants will be putting food on the table for themselves and their families. On November 14, WIP is hosting an emergency food drive and volunteer event to benefit Cara Collective. We will be collecting donations from volunteers and packing meal kits with recipes for Cara participants to take home. We are asking attendees to bring donations of ready to eat foods or food that requires very little preparation from the list below. If you would like to participate, please email Emily Fox, Sarah Mathew, and Michelle Stephens (emily.fox@mandg.com, smathew@aresmgmt.com, michelle.stephens@lgima.com) If you would like to support Cara but are unable to attend, donations can be made online at the link below, or grocery store gift cards can be dropped off at Cara (237 South Desplaines Street, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM) or given to a member of the WIP Community Outreach Committee.
