Rowe Price’s head of the U.S. Taxable Low Duration team, Cheryl Mickel, will be providing the keynote address! Cheryl will discuss her path of developing into a committed leader; a leader that established respect by “striv[ing] for exceptional performance without sacrificing personal values”. Cheryl attributes much of this professional growth to the encouragement she received from those around her. Cheryl Mickel is the head of the U.S. Taxable Low Duration team and a co-portfolio manager of the US Short Duration Income and Stable Value Intermediate Term Strategies in the Fixed Income Division. She is president of the Fixed Income Series, president and Investment Advisory Committee member of the Short-Term Bond Fund, and a vice president and Investment Advisory Committee member of the Government Money and Tax-Exempt Money Funds. Cheryl manages short to intermediate bond strategies and specializes in managing synthetic guaranteed investment contract portfolios for the Stable Value team. She is a member of the Board of Directors of T. Rowe Price Trust Company; the chair of the T. Rowe Price Trust Company Investment Committee; a member of the Fixed Income Steering, Multi-Asset Steering, and Valuation Committees; and a trustee of the T. Rowe Price Foundation. Cheryl is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Trust Company.

Cheryl has been with T. Rowe Price since 1989, beginning in the Fixed Income Division where her early responsibilities included trading across an array of fixed income markets, including high-grade corporates, mortgages, and structured products, as well as foreign currencies. In 1997, she became a taxable portfolio manager, and in 2015, she assumed her current role.

Cheryl earned a B.S. in economics from the University of Baltimore and an M.B.A. from Loyola University Maryland. She also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
