Before joining AssetGrade in 2016, she was with Fidelity Investments for 15 years and The Northern Trust Company for 4 years. Kate frequently speaks as a guest financial advisor about life transitions, college planning, and retirement options for businesses and individuals. Her clients appreciate her experience in the field, honesty, and ability to provide solutions. Kate is a former Director on the Board of Oak Bank and Trustee to ISBI (Illinois State Board of Investment). Kate received her B.A. from St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame.
Joanne “Jo” Hickman Dodd
Joanne Hickman Dodd is a senior executive with more than 36 years in institutional sales management with large, global asset managers. For the past 25 years, she has focused on building and managing consultant relations teams to raise assets and service the needs of consultants and investors on a global basis.
Most recently, Ms. Dodd was the Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager and Coordinator of Global Consultant Relations for The Capital Group. Prior to joining Capital Group in 2014, she was Managing Director and Global Head of Consultant Relations at Northern Trust Asset Management, and Managing Director and Head of Consultant Relations, Americas, at UBS Global Asset Management.
She has been a passionate advocate for women and children, a commitment throughout her distinguished career. In 1996, she co-founded Women Investment Professionals (WIP) which inspires, empowers, and advocates for the advancement of women in the investment industry. WIP provides professional development opportunities, educational programs and networking across diverse disciplines, functions and occupations. Ms. Dodd returned to the Board in 2020, serves on the Advisory Council and chairs the Professional Development Committee.
Ms. Dodd has been an active member of the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives (AIMSE) for 21 years and served on that organization’s board for seven.
For six years Joanne has been a board member for Deborah’s Place and for the past two years, served as chair of the Governance Committee. Deborah’s Place is the largest provider of permanent housing for homeless women in Chicago. Ms. Dodd brought her expertise to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Open Heart Magic (OHM), a nonprofit helping hospitalized children by bringing laughter and hope through bedside magic. She served on the OHM board for more than four years.
Ms. Dodd earned her MBA from the Quinlan School at Loyola University in Chicago.
With a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Chicago in Economics and Statistics and a career in finance at various Wall Street firms, owner Teresa Ging left finance to attend Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie program in Paris. When she returned to Chicago she set out to pursue a dream to open the first cupcake boutique in downtown Chicago. In October 2007, Ging launched the catering and delivery side of the business with 20+ flavors in the Sugar Bliss cupcake collection and in January 2009 opened the first Sugar Bliss retail location. Since then Sugar Bliss has expanded their product offerings to variety of baked goods, including cake pops, French macarons, cookies, brownies, morning pastries, and more. Sugar Bliss has been providing sweets in the Downtown Loop since 2009 and is currently located at 122 S Wabash Avenue.
In addition, she has received numerous awards since opening Sugar Bliss including Enterprising Women of the Year Award in 2019, Rising Star Award from the Women’s Business Development Center in 2011, and Best New Business from the City Treasurer’s Office/City of Chicago in 2010, as well as has been invited by President Obama to attend the signing of the White House Council on Women & Girls.
Regina Dominican High School
Elizabeth Schuster serves as President of Regina Dominican High School, the premier college preparatory Catholic high school that inspires young women to lead and serve in the global community. Ms Schuster is also the founder of Samadhi, a holistic leadership development company. A 15-year veteran of the financial services industry, most recently at Vanguard helping to launch the ETF business.
Elizabeth earned her BA in Fashion Merchandising and Design from Marywood University, her certification to teach yoga and meditation from the Chopra Center for Wellbeing and her M.B.A. at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She is also a Certified Investment Management Analyst from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Schuster serves on the board of Boys Hope Girls Hope Chicago. She also serves on the Kellogg Alumni Council. She lives in Lincoln Park with her husband 3 year old daughter.
